Giving Back

At Child’s Play, we care deeply about all children having the right start to life, not just those who can shop at our store. As a member of our community, we believe in giving back and are actively involved with hundreds of local schools and organizations, including:

  • Arlington County special needs teachers
  • Arlington Food Assistance Center
  • DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence  — Every year, we host a shop night with DC professional athletes to purchase toys and books for families affected by domestic violence.
  • Friends of the National Zoo — In addition to funding a carousel animal, Child’s Play hosts shopping days to donate a portion of our proceeds.
  • Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts
  • Hands in Outreach — With our holiday wrapping table, we raise money to educate young women in Nepal.
  • Homeless Children’s Playtime Project
  • Hope for Henry — Through innovative programs, this local organization helps seriously ill children have a childhood.
  • Hope House
  • Idjwi Island Fund — Through our holiday wrapping and donations, we have helped this organization provide vital support services to a poverty-stricken island in Africa.
  • Liver Mommas — We support the holiday drive for this organization that helps families of children receiving a liver transplant.
  • Metropolitan Police Department — We donate books for kids in need.
  • Reach Out and Read
  • Safe Shores — We donate toys and books for kids affected by trauma and violence.
  • SHARE — Through an angel tree, we collect holiday presents for kids in need.
